About Us

The Beginning

Holy Transfiguration was founded in 2000 by a handful of families to serve the spiritual needs of  the Romanian community.

The Present

Today we welcome everyone who seek to live their life in communion with God - our services are held in both Romanian and English.

We strive to raise the young generation maintaining and loving our traditions, faith and believes. 

Activities

February 24 - Martisor Celebration

Each Mach 1-st Romanians give each other small tokens tied with red and white string in celebration of the upcoming spring. Sunday school children will sell martisoare created by their own two hands. 

March 3 - Mosii de Iarna

A day for remembrance of our loved ones who have passed away. The priest holds a special service on this day, usually followed by lunch offered by our families.

March 24 - Buna Vestire/Annunciation

This is the day when St. Mary was visited by Archangel Gabriel, an important holiday in the orthodox tradition. 

A fundraising luncheon will be served right after the Divine Liturgy.

April 21 - Floriile/Palm Sunday

In the orthodox tradition we celebrate the Lord's Entrance in Jerusalem on this day.

 A fundraising luncheon will be served right after the Divine Liturgy.
